Hello everyone! My name is Lauren Reaves and I am a 3rd grade teacher here at Watwood Elementary. I grew up in Columbiana, AL and came through the Shelby County School system. I graduated from Shelby County High in 2015. I went straight to college after graduating and began my college career at the University of Montevallo. I stayed there for 2 years before transferring to Jacksonville State University in Fall 2017. I completed JSU's Teacher Education Program and graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education in December 2019. I have also completed two Master's level courses through the University of West Alabama. 

I taught 2nd grade for a year and a half for Shelby County Schools. From there, I returned to Watwood (I completed my Internship here and did some reading intervention in 2020 prior to COVID.) to work as a Reading Interventionist for 1st and 2nd grade students. This year begins my third year in public education!

I am married to my husband, James, and have a sweet dog named Remi. I am so excited to be on the 3rd grade team here at Watwood!
