Mrs. Cameron Lackey

Hi! My name is Cameron Lackey, and I have been blessed to play many roles - wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, teacher, student...the list goes on. Family is number one in my life. I am married to a wonderful man who is my best friend - Leslie - and we have a beautiful, spunky little girl named Scarlet. We enjoy outdoor activities like barbecuing, camping, swimming, and walking in the woods. My personal hobbies include singing, baking, yoga, and running (you may recognize me from the CACC track).

This is my fourth year in Collaborative Education at Childersburg High School. I graduated from Coosa Central High School in 2003, and I attended Central Alabama Community College for two years before transferring to Auburn University Montgomery. There I earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in General Psychology. In 2010, I graduated from Jacksonville State University with my Master's in Behavioral Psychology. Prior to entering education, I worked for five years as a BCBA in community mental health in the Birmingham area.

I am currently pursuing an Alternative Master's in Special Education (grades 6-12) through the University of South Alabama. I may have taken the long way around to get here, but I really enjoy my job, my students, and the community we are creating at Childersburg High School.
