ESSER and ARP ESSER Funds

As part of the response to the Coronavirus pandemic, multiple appropriations have been made to assist schools in their response to the pandemic. 

 In March 2020, the Coronavirus Aid Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act for the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER Fund) was signed into law. Talladega County Schools received the following amounts that were used to address the impact that COVID-19 has had, and continues to have on our schoolsl

  • ESSER I- $ 1,770,957.00
  • GEER- $ 472,144.00
  • CRF- $ 646,413.00

ESSER I and GEER funds are available through September 30, 2022. CRF funding was available through December 15, 2020.

In December 2020, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSA), was signed into law. Talladega County received the following amounts: 

  • ESSER II- $6,864,258.00
  • ESSER II State Reserve- $ 303,936.00

Talladega County's most recent approved budget application for these funds can be found HERE. Both ESSER II and ESSER II State Reserve will be available through September 30, 2023. 

Most recently, in March 2021, the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act was signed into law. Talladega County received the following ARP ESSER amounts: 

  • ARP ESSER- $ 15,427,275.00
  • ARP ESSER State Reserve- $ 3,085,455.00

ARP ESSER and ARP ESSER State Reserve funding are available through September 30, 2024.
