Talladega County Schools Education Foundation
History and Purpose
The Talladega County Education Foundation is a nonprofit corporation organized in 1993. The purpose of the Foundation is to establish, maintain, and manage an educational fund and to provide financial resources for special programs and projects which will include those beyond the state required educational opportunities for students enrolled in the Talladega County School System. The Foundation supports the school system's vision to provide a challenging, rigorous curriculum empowering all students to be successful in the 21st century.
The Board of Directors is appointed to serve either two, four and six-year terms of service. Ex officio members include the Superintendent of the Talladega County Schools and the Chairman of the Talladega County Board of Education.
Donor Classifications
Any person who makes an annual contribution to the Foundation is eligible to become an Associate.
There are five classes of Associates:
Those persons making an annual contribution equal to or in excess of $5,000 shall be eligible to become enrolled as a Foundation Advisor.
Those persons making an annual contribution in excess of $1,000 but less than $5,000 shall be eligible to become enrolled as a President's Associate.
Those persons making an annual contribution in excess of $500 but less than $1,000 shall be eligible to become enrolled as a Patron.
Those persons making an annual contribution in excess of $100 but less than $500 shall be eligible to become enrolled as a Benefactor.
Those persons making an annual contribution less than $100 shall be eligible to become enrolled as a Friend of the Foundation.
Individuals or businesses making a monetary or in-kind contribution equal to or in excess of $25,000 will receive a Foundation chair.
Major Foundation Projects
Three School-wide competitive grants in the amount of $1,000-$2,000 will be awarded to one elementary, one middle and one high school each year.
Eighteen teacher competitive grants (one per school) in the amount of $500-$1000 will be awarded each year.
Seven college scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors in the amount of $1000 each year.
