All About Our Principal
Welcome to Stemley Road Elementary, where we are creating leaders every day! Students are empowered to become leaders of their own learning by demonstrating the five C's of the 21st century. We pride ourselves in being #Anchored in Leadership.
My name is Audrey Chatman and I have spent more than 27 years in education. During my time as an educator, I have served as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. The majority of my educational career has been spent in the Talladega County School system with my journey beginning at Stemley Road Elementary in 1994. I am also an alumni of the the Talladega County School system and a graduate of Talladega County Central High School. I earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University. My Masters, Educational Specialist, and Doctorate degree were all attained at The University of Alabama.
I have been married to my husband, James Chatman for 28 years. We have four children April, Cory, Brittany, and Trinity. Our newest addition to the family is my grandson, Steven, born May 11, 2020. I enjoy traveling, reading, football, and spending time with family.
