Mrs. Myra Edwards

Mrs. Myra Edwards is the Assistant Principal at Winterboro High School. She started her career as a substitute teacher, school bus driver, and then was hired as an instructional assistant at B.B. Comer Elementary and HighSchool for Talladega County School District in 1998 . She began her teaching career at Lincoln Elementary in 2008, teaching 5th grade students. After eight wonderful years at Lincoln, she went to Talladega County Central High School as a reading teacher, media specialist, and DLP coach for three marvelous years.
Mrs. Edwards graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a master's in Educational Leadership from Samford University in 2014. During her years of teaching, she's had several opportunities to hold many leadership positions. While teaching, she has served on the 5th grade Reading Pacing and Assessment Team for Talladega County Schools, as well as serving on the Leader In Me Lighthouse Team and the Scantron state assessment team for 7th grade ELA. The Talladega County School District has provided her with many leadership opportunities by serving as teacher leader, technology specialist, testing coordinator and Title I coordinator. She was named a Leader to Learn from in 2016 and Teacher of the Year in 2018 at Talladega County Central High School.
