If you are a customer of Hargray Communications for Cable TV, but not for Internet, Hargray is offering 60 Days free Internet to their customers with students in their households.
If you contact Hargray regarding this, take the following into consideration:
If you do not wish to have a technician come into your home during this time of social distancing, please let them know this when you talk to Hargray over the telephone. You can arrange to pick up the equipment at their Pell City office or ask to meet them outside to sign off on the paperwork.
You will need one (extra) active cable connection in your home that can be used for Hargray Internet Router. Many homes have multiple connections in homes. Note: You cannot use your cable box and router on the same connection. If you do not have an extra connection, a Hargray Technician will be required to install this (an extra cost might apply).
After you plug the power and coaxial cable into your Hargray Router, you will have to contact Hargray support to get them to remotely refresh the equipment in your home.
Hargray's Router will have the Wifi Password on a label on the bottom of the router.
This is a 60-Day offer, you are responsible for contacting Hargray to cancel the service and return the equipment in order to avoid being charged for this service by Hargray Communications.
----In an effort to provide aid and assistance to our students the AP College Board is holding online lessons for your benefit. These lessons are designed to provide you with extra practice in preparation for the exam. The online lessons will begin on Wednesday, March 25. Please reference the link for the exact time these lessons will be available. Students can still access their AP classrooms for practice and resources as they prepare for their exam. At the present time, the AP College Board is making plans in regards to testing. The projected date for that information is April 3. As soon as that information is provided, we will push it out to our teachers and students.
UPDATE (3/20): According to newly released guidance from the USDA, children must be present in order to receive a meal from one of our Grab and Go locations. We will continue to distribute meals from 11 AM to 12 PM (Monday-Friday.) We apologize for any inconvenience.
Talladega County Schools will be offering lunches for all students (ages 4-18 years old) during our extended closure (March 19-April 3) from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday - Friday. LES (car line) SRES (car line)
Good Afternoon, Lincoln Family I want to make parents aware of several items during the extended school closure. As of 1:00 today Lincoln High School will be closed from Tuesday, March 17 until Monday, April 6. During our extended closure, we will provide limited meal service for students 18 and under from Thursday, March 19 through Friday, April 3. In order to prepare enough meals, we must determine the number of students who will be participating. Go to our school’s website or Facebook page to complete the online form letting us know the number from your household who will be participating and from which school site you will pick up your meals. All meals will be available in a “grab and go” format from selected schools in our district. You will drive through The parking lot of Lincoln Elementary. between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon to pick up meals for your students. Each family should complete the form one time. Please complete the form by Wednesday, March 18.
Next, during the closure, students will have opportunities for skills practice in their classes. These skills practice activiites will be available on their Google Classroom page. Students will be able to access these resources on their Chromebook. If parents need hard copies of activities, they will be available for pickup at Lincoln High School between 11:00-12:00 beginning Thursday. I will be available to get this work for your student during these hours. While we encourage our students to practice during this time, we are not attaching grades to these activities. These resources are simply to provide your students with practice during the extended closure.
In addition, all extra-curricular activities during this time have been cancelled. This includes all athletic events, as well as the Mu Alpha Theta, and Beta Club inductions. These events will be rescheduled at a later date.
Also, due to the recommendations issued by the Alabama Department of Health regarding large crowd gatherings, at this time we are postponing our Prom on April 10. The tentative reschedule date is Saturday, May 9. The ticket price of $50.00 will be honored upon our return to school. Should this date change in any way, students and parents will be notified.
On a personal note, I want to thank each of you for your support, flexibility, and availability during this time. I have received numerous calls and emails from people offering to help during this time, and I have been overwhelmed with the level of support. I count it a privilege to work for such an incredible community. If you have any questions, please email me at email@example.com. Thank you, and we will see everyone on April, 6
