B. B. Comer Elementary and Stemley Road Elementary Schools First Class: Alabama Voluntary Pre-K Program NOW Accepting Applications thru July 12, 2017

Alabama’s nationally recognized First Class Pre-K is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year. Enrollment is open to all children four years of age on or before September 1, 2017. Children who are eligible for kindergarten are ineligible to register. Children will not be denied participation based on income, sex, race, color, national origin, or disability. Acceptance to the program is through a random selection process. The registered applicants must meet residency requirements and complete the essential documentation set forth by the program. Talladega County’s policy gives priority to families living in the B. B. Comer Elementary School and the Stemley Road School zones. However, anyone interested should complete the application process because any Alabama resident will be accepted, space permitting. Our program is grant funded and there is no registration fee or tuition during the program hours, 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Bus transportation is not provided for Pre-K; students must be dropped off and picked up in the car line. Upon selection, applicants will be required to provide a current utility bill as proof of residency, birth certificate, and blue immunization form. The random selection drawing will be electronic and take place on July 12, 2017 at 9:00 AM . Families do not have to be present in order to receive a placement.
