During the 2008-2009 school year, nine of our Career and Technical Education Programs throughout our Talladega County Schools went through a Business and Industry Certification Process required by the Alabama State Department of Education. This is in addition to the individual teacher certification requirements. Program requirements include thorough evidence and documentation be provided to include:
Extensive Lesson Plans for each course taught in a Program
Structured syllabii
Student records with required documents
Teacher certification, professional development, and continued Business & Industry awareness hours
Required program equipment
Implementation of Safety in classroom and laboratory/shop areas
Current and approved textbooks
Additional resources and publications
Evidence of technology, group work, team leadership, varied activities
Evidence of problem solving techniques
Maintain contact with graduates through student followup process
Be instrumental in assisting students in continuing their education through post-secondary, military and securing jobs.
Encourage and recruit students into non-traditional fields
